So the age old question; how do you get your brand new leather sofas into your apartment when they won’t fit in the elevator or front door? Through the balcony of course! But what if your balcony is 8 floors up in the Sydney CBD? You call Practical Access!
We took an interesting job recently to lift 2 large leather sofas into a high rise city apartment. The works could only be done early on a weekend morning and we had a timeframe of only 4 hours, including mobilisation and pack up. To make things easier we needed to set up our davit frame and haul system set up on Level 16 above (but can also use the roof in a pinch) so we could haul the sofas up from the ground then gently into the balcony then into the apartment and right into place where the client wanted them.
Extra care had to be taken with the sofas to ensure no damage was taken by our lifting gear or the surrounding facade on the way up. Making good use of recycled materials and padding our technicians were able to deliver the couches scuff free.
And the result? The client was happy, our team was happy and we are pretty sure the couches were happy too.
